"Baby Gay" is a series of photographs taken of LGBT youth in New York, New York and Honolulu, Hawaii to create visibility of young lgbtq+ people. The purpose of this series is to create a representation of young gay people since the narrative when many gay people come out is that "you are too young to know". My parents told me this same statement, as I came out when I was in Middle School and later coming out to them as transgender in High School. One of the reasons why people are opposed to the thought that a younger person can be gay is because not enough media tells the story of young gay people. By creating more art that shows young queer people, hopefully this won't be the narrative between parents and kids anymore as the attraction or gender someone has is always valid despite their age.
